La Strada, 1957 Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film, is Fellini’s first masterpiece. Young and innocent Gelsomina gets sold to brutish street performer Zampano and becomes his assistant, but is silenced in trauma after witnessing Zampano murder a friend. She is then abandoned by Zampano.
