Synopsis

Swept away by a tornado to the Land of Oz, Dorothy learns she must meet the Wizard of Oz to return home. With her dog Toto, she heads to the Emerald City. Along the way, she meets a Scarecrow who wants a brain, a Tin Woodman who longs for a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who seeks courage. Together, they journey to the Wizard, hoping their wishes will be granted.

Program Note

Swept up by a sudden whirlwind, Dorothy and her friends fall into the strange and dazzling world of Oz. Since its 1939 debut, this classic has become one of cinema's most brilliant masterpieces. The scene where Dorothy steps from the dull sepia—toned Kansas farm into the vibrant, full-color world of Oz still amazes audiences today. The Wizard of Oz also gave us beloved musical numbers like Over the Rainbow. This film is pure magic—blending dreams, fears, childhood imagination, technicolor wonder, and music into a true cinematic enchantment. (Jin. Cho)
