In a small apartment in Buenos Aires, crammed with memories and invaded by a huge grand piano, the 91-year-old Cavallini twin sisters go through the days between the love and hate of their peculiar symbiotic bond. There, they reminisce over their days as a professional piano duo and something seems to light up in their eyes. The music returns with all the strength of the past.

"Near and Dear" means the closest and the most valuable. The film portrays the last moments of the twin pianists Isabel and Amelia Cavallini. After getting the worldwide fame while young, they now spend their life looking at objects full of memories in a small apartment in Buenos Aires. Their memories dim yet their obssession with the cherished objects gets greater. In stride, director Maria Alvarez portrays the old sisters' recollection, daily life, and the way they prepare for death. (Noh Kwangwoo)
