SYNOPSIS

Doris Muñoz is an ambitious, young music manager whose undocumented family depends on her ability to launch pop stars. When she loses her biggest client, Doris hustles to discover new talent and finds Jacks — another daughter of immigrants for whom "making it" isn't just a dream: it's a necessity.

PROGRAM NOTE

Doris, a music talent manager hailing from a Mexican immigrant family, welcomes an auspicious young singer Jacks as her new client. Their musical success is directly related to their undocumented family’s legal stay. The weary American dream of the 21st century is jumbled up with their fiery dream for music as they take another challenging step forward. As you listen to Doris’ voiceover of serene and poetic internal confessions and witness the most personal moment of Jacks where she crumbles, you’ll find yourself sending them love and encouragement.
