Kikka! is a real-life story about a sales girl who dreams of a singing career in late 80s Finland. As Kikka befriends a female DJ, Paula, the duo decides to find Kikka a record deal. A scandalous TV performance makes Kikka a national star overnight. But as her popularity gets out of control, what started as a bit of fun takes on darker tones and threatens to tear everything apart.
Kikka! is based on the life of the Finnish musician Kikka. Although she wanted to work as a duet with her colleague DJ Paula, she stands on stage solo at the request of the agency. She instantly becomes a celebrity when her nipple is flashed on her debut stage by accident. Some look at her with prejudice and condemnation due to her sexual image, while others admire her. The film balances Kikka's heyday and the hidden sufferings, and depicts her more-than-friendship with Paula in detail. (Cho Hyunna)
