SYNOPSIS

Documentary and dance film on the legacy of Friedrich Engels and the discussion of the culture of memory. The larger-than-life bronze statue by the Chinese artist Zeng Chenggang depicts the German social theorist, textile entrepreneur, and revolutionary Friedrich Engels. Which forms and symbols of collective memory are significant for us today? Why should we still remember Engels? 

DIRECTOR

Kerstin Hamburg

A designer, producer, festival director. She is a chairman of the Tanzrauschen in Wuppertal, which supports, produces and represents films, installations and new media art in the field of performing arts. 

Michael Baudenbacher

A cameraman and filmmaker. He produces documentaries, video installations, short films and is also an artistic director for video, photo projects of several socio-cultural institutions. 

Paul White

A freelance choreographer and dancer based in Berlin and Spain, who is one of the most highly regarded dance artists from Australia.
