PROGRAM NOTE

This is a documentary to follow the trail of Poly Styrene, the vocalist of the British punk rock band, X-Ray Spex. The film is narrated by Celeste Belle, the daughter of Styrene. Not a mere narrator; Belle actively collects records of her mother visiting concert halls and makes the film a well-organized biography of Poly Styrene with her narrations of the memories. The film shows diverse sides of the life of Poly Styrene; in 1970s, the social discrimination on a black frontwoman and her fight back, the real her behind the stage. (CHO Hyunna)
