Korean Music Film Now - Korean Competition

This is a newly created section to support the production of the Korean music films and encourage the music film creators with their creative motivation. Six world premiere feature films and twelve world premiere short films will be screened in this feature-short combined competition. The best feature film will win KRW 15 million of the prize, and the best short film will get KRW 5 million. Song of the Poet, selected for the feature film support in Jecheon Music Film Project Promotion 2020, is a documentary about the music world of Jeong Tae-chun and Park Eun-ok, who have transformed from beloved pop singers to social protest singers embracing the pain of society. The first ‘Korean Competition’ also invited films such as ON THE ROAD, that Director Lee Jae-han shows the deepest side of singer Jaejoong, an experimental film Mummer that shows Korea’s representative meimist, Yu Jin-gyu, A Star of Disgust that addresses the issue of hatred with B-rated sensibility shares a harmonious message in a musical ending, and Camino de SANGJARU, that is about a young musician who explores the artistic imagination and creativity in the framework of traditional music. 1247 is a film to show a harmonious pathway of gayageum and harp making together. There are also noteworthy short films such as The Peddler Duo, Für Elise, The Line of Sleep, showing liveliness and wittiness but address serious social problems at the same time.
