This was my first US film and postproduction was done in LA. The studio was nervous about me doing the score and so I agreed to work with two other artists, Brian Banks and Anthoney Marinelli. This proved to be a great system. I was introduced to the LA music scene and worked in a great studio using all the latest technology. Some of the finest musicians in Hollywood are on the score and my collaborators gave me the freedom to try many different things. The score is now recognized as being a game-changer and its influence can be heard on many other films that followed.

Mike Figgis debuted with Stormy Monday (1988), entered Hollywood as a director and music director of Internal Affairs (1990) starring Richard Gear. After directed Liebestraum (1991), Mr. Jones (1993) and The Browning Version (1994), he was nominated for Academy Awards in two categories with Leaving Las Vegas (1996), giving Nicolas Cage the Best Actor award. Also known as a musician and a photographer himself, he directed Somebody UP there Likes Me (2019) for the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. Currently working on a feature film, MOTHER-TONGUE in Hongkong, preparing for his first Korean language project, SHAME.
