Curator of the Year: MIKE FIGGIS

It is a section where we invite filmmakers, including directors and music directors who played important roles in the history of music and film to select their own representative titles and the life-time music films that inspired their works, and ask them to write reviews and introduce their works to audiences. Following last year's music director Cho Sung-woo, we invite director Mike Figgis, the world-renowned master of Leaving Las Vegas (1995) as the ‘Curator of the Year’. Director Mike Figgis selected Leaving Las Vegas and Internal Affairs (1990) as his representative works for ‘Curator of the Year’ section in 2021. He selected Elevator to the Gallows (1958), It Follows (2014), In the Heat of the Night (1967) and In Cold Blood (1967) as the films that inspired his works. Along with the screening of the films, Jecheon International Music & Film Festival holds the director's Master Class as well. It will be a priceless opportunity for a participant to watch Leaving Las Vegas that is still deeply loved by many fans even after 20 years of its release, in a theater with the director's lecture. Director Louis Malle's Elevator to the Gallows in which the modern jazz master, Miles Davis participated as music director will also provide an unforgettable experience that can only be experienced at Jecheon International Music & Film Festival.
