This film is based on the actual person Wilhelm Furtwangler who was the conductor of Berlin Philharmonic orchestra during the Nazi reign. Harvey Keitel makes his appearance as Major Arnold who investigates on Furtwangler after the end of Second World War. The director presents contradicting positions in the film asking the audience their opinion on a highly debatable character.
Born 1938 in Budapest. His graduation piece < Concert> in 1961 for the Academy of Theatrical Arts was screened worldwide. Shot his first feature film < The Age of Daydream> at the age of 26 and put himself in the spotlight of Hungarian cinema. Nominated for the Oscars three times, he received the Best Foreign Film Award for < Mephisto>.
