Bong, Joon-ho

Born 1969. Majored in sociology at Yonsei University and attended the Korean Academy of Film Arts. Shorts < Memories in the Frame > and < Incoherence> were invited to the Vancouver Film Festival and the Hong Kong Film Festival in 1994. His feature film debut < Barking Dogs Never Bite>(2000) won him the International Critics Award at the Hong Kong Film Festival and the Award for Best New Director at the Munich Film Festival. He joined the ranks of celebrity directors with < Memory of a Murder> in 2003.
