The stories of Nora, a widow living with her child, and her old lover Ismael run parallel to each other until suddenly their paths cross and the story takes on a completely different turn. Promising French director Desplechin combines French humor with lavish images to produce < a rich and strange film.> Catherine Deneuve appears in a supporting role to add sincerity to the film.
Born in 1960 in Roubaix, Arnaud Desplechin graduated from IDHEC and started working as a cameraman for films by Eric Rochant and Nikos Papatakis. His first short film < The Life of Death/La Vie des morts> was made in 1991 and he began receiving recognition for his first feature film < The Sentinel>(1992).
