As the Moldovan Republic is preparing for a visit from the General Secretary of USSR, Leonid Brezhnev, Lautar, a poor musician, finally summons up the courage to ask the local gypsy Baron for his daughter’s hand in marriage. To everyone’s surprise, the Baron gives the couple his blessing, but on one condition: Lautar must convince the Soviet leader to come to the wedding as his matchmaker.

His recent work is the musical < The Twelve Chairs >, based on the classic Russian novel of the same title. With his versatility, he has directed theatrical plays and TV series and in 2002, he played one of the main roles in the TV series Leading Roles
