Finding Fela tells a story of Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s life, his music, his social and political importance. He created a new musical movement, Afrobeat, using that forum to express his revolutionary political opinions against the dictatorial Nigerian government of the 1970s and 1980s. This revolutionary movement had a big impact on the improvement of Nigerian democracy, and publicity of the Pan African policies globally as well. His messages are still influential today through his songs which are used in political movements and protests to protect the rights of the oppressed people.
