A bitter-sweet black comedy about one man's obsessive attempt to get a rare and valuable stamp known as ‘the Blue Sophia’. It is the one stamp missing from his recently deceased wife's stamp collection and he is hoping that procuring it will help him to overcome his grief. When he asks the members of his brass band for help, the story takes an unexpected turn.
Philipp Klinger grew up in a small village near the black forest and escaped early into theatre, writing, music and of course into film making. After an apprenticeship as a media designer in a film production company, he worked mainly as a first assistant director on commercials and feature films. With his first own short film, he was accepted to study directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg.
