제15회 제천국제음악영화제

The year 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the year that the film <Fight for Justice>(1919) was produced and screened with Korea’s equity capital. Jecheon International Music & Film Festival planned a special screening with Korean Film Council, The Committee for Korean Film 100 Years, and Korean Film Archive co-hosting to commemorate the centenary of Korean films through the theme, “100 Years of Korean Cinema, Songs of the Times.” Six films which cover representative era-specific film music and theme songs will be screened: <The Blue Hill>(1949), supposedly the first Korean music film; <Popular Songs in the Past 50 Years>(1968) which integrates half a century of Korean pop music from the 1920s to the late 1960s; <Heavenly homecoming stars>(1974) that blends in the music of the renowned C’est si bon members Lee Jang-hee and Kang Keun-shik; <Whale Hunting>(1984), the representative 1980s youth movie that drew out the vigorous acting and film music works of singer Kim Soo-chul; Director Im Kwon-taek’s <Sopyonje>(1993) which was praised to have realized the height of Korean “sorrow” through its cinematized pansori; and director Lee Joon-ik’s <Radio Star>(2006) that warmly portrays the friendship between a has-been singer and his loyal manager.
